On the 19th of March, the Statesville’s Davis Regional Medical Center was the scene of a singular incident. During one of the lunch breaks, a hospital employee brought a casserole containing home-made brownies to his emergency room colleagues. At least six hospital employees consumed by brownies.
Shortly after consuming the sweets, the hospital workers started to fell off, and they thought about food poisoning. However, after a couple of minutes, they’ve realized that they weren’t feeling the effects of food poisoning and that they were actually high.
Fortunately, some of their colleagues managed to get them off the grid and to pump the THC out of their system. According to the hospital’s spokesperson, it would appear that although the six hospital workers interacted with patients while they were intoxicated, no incidents occurred. Moreover, shortly after the staff identified how the workers became intoxicated, they’ve immediately notified the local authorities which started an investigation.
It would seem that the hospital workers began to exhibit THC intoxication-related symptoms shortly after consuming the brownies brought to the emergency room by one of them. The lab works backed up their findings. Moreover, it would appear that the pot brownies which intoxicated the staff members were prepared and baked by a person who is not affiliated to the hospital.
After conducting the interview, the authorities determined that the pot brownies baker did not know that the oil used in the recipe was made from cannabis. Up until now, no arrests were made. When asked by the reporters why they made no arrest the individual who prepared the pot brownies, the officers replied that they did not find any marijuana or THC oil on the premises and that they need hard proof in order to make an arrest.
As for the six staff members who got high, according to the hospital’s spokesperson, they’ve recovered and were sent back to duty. Some of the hospital’s patients who heard about the pot brownies incident told the reporters that somebody should be held accountable for this incident.
