Google has been making our lives easier since its very release. The search engine provides us with tons of useful information and seems very responsive to our needs. The latest thing Google has been up to seems fun: Open YOLO – you only log in once.
Smart engineers come up with a catchy name, which stands for an even smarter idea. The concept behind Open YOLO is concerned with passwords – something we come across quite often every day, in the online environment.
Passwords can turn into real headaches. Web sites require accounts and passwords for both their safety and the safety of their users. So keeping in mind all your passwords can become a challenge. The good news is that these days might be over, thanks to Open YOLO – a program designed to remember your password on every site you log in so that you should not worry about the matter anymore. Basically, it is just like their slogan: you only log in once.
Most definitely, Android users will enjoy the application. When installed into your phone, YOLO can connect you to the sites you need, opened via Chrome.
Open YOLO is the result of working as a team, which consists of Google and giant password managers (Dashlane, 1Password, and Roboform among them). They are trying to fuse as many functions as possible into a single application, which will be able to provide strong security for users.
For the time being, Open YOLO is an API (Application Program Interface). The developers are confident that they will get satisfying results.
Dashlane manager, Malaika Nicholas, revealed some additional pieces of information:
“In the future, we see this open API going beyond just Android devices, and becoming universally implemented by apps and password managers across every platform and operating system.”
There are also programs which, instead of actual passwords, require from users their fingerprint or eye scan. They imply a high degree of security, but the projects are not fully developed.
One of the first things in the developers’ mind is the security of the users and their comfort. Thanks to developing improvements in technology, to careful engineers and to Google and Open YOLO, you won’t have to worry about stressful things such as online passwords.
