Many people suffer every year because of various health conditions in the United States. Therefore, there is a dire need of medical care support, understanding, and dedication to improving the lives of those people.
Furthermore, residents in rural counties are the ones who need the most attention. Thanks to the Affordable Health Care Act (ACA), these residents have benefited from medical assistance in the past few years.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reported that between 2013 and 2015, health coverage increased by eight percent in rural counties. In other words, this percentage consists of millions of people who benefit from affordable health coverage, according to Sylvia Burwell, Health, and Human Services secretary.
Furthermore, the number of rural American residents unable to afford health coverage dropped off by 6 percent over the last few years. In addition to this, the statistics showed that 1.7 million rural residents were offered affordable coverage through the Marketplace for 2016 and this number consists of just one in five plan selections.
According to the federal agency, residents in rural counties will continue to receive health care as they have already gained more access to the assistance offered by the major coverage provision of the Affordable Care Act.
Moreover, 19 more states will soon be supported by the Medicaid expansion of the ACA. It means that additional improvements in health coverage are expected in the following months.
Therefore, just as the people living in the urban areas benefited from tax credits and the Health Insurance Marketplace to maintain affordable health care coverage, residents from rural counties will now receive health coverage gains thanks to the Affordable Care Act.
Many people need medical assistance every day, and it is hard to be always there for everyone. This is why many organizations throughout the United States doubled their efforts to find better solutions so that all citizens will be offered the help they need and deserve.
Plus, experts and officials are trying to raise awareness through this initiative and encourage everyone to bring their contribution to the need of others.
Unfortunately, not everyone has enough money to buy medication and treatment to maintain or improve their health. Hopefully, every resident living in rural counties will be able to afford medical coverage as soon as possible.
