Gotham is going to premiere on September 21st this year and they just won’t stop throwing spoilers at people in order to attract more and more gothamites. Firstly, we were faced with the probably true theory that Ra’s al Ghul might come to Gotham. Then we saw our soon to be Joker storming the GCPD. Ben Mckenzie spoiled the apparition of Batman and now we get insight into the Batcave.
When Gotham’s first season ended, we were left on a sort of cliffhanger not knowing what Bruce would find under the Wayne Manor. And it looks like we cannot call it a Batcave just yet. David Mazouz, who portrays Bruce Wayne in the show, declared that “it’s definitely not the Batcave”.
But Mazouz reveals that the discovery of the cave is going to have profound changes in Bruce’s life as “it changes everything. It changes how he sees Alfred, the criminal side of Gotham, even how he sees his parents.” The cave holds the secret to Thomas Wayne’s secret life and all he tried to accomplish before being killed.
It is only the beginning of Bruce’s quest to become the Dark Knight, but we first have to see how he is going to survive the season, because the bad guys are set to take over Gotham in the episodes that will follow.
There is a lot of speculation as to how the show’s story is going to evolve, especially if we did not misinterpret the signs until now. If Ra’s al Ghul is going to take down Gotham this season, it is going to be interesting to see who is going to stop him, since from precious DC comics or animations, we never know if Jim Gordon actually met Ra’s.
There are also a number of new criminal masterminds that are going to show us what they have to offer. Jerome seems to want to let his inner Joker roam free, Barbara Kean seems to have taken quite an interest into the dark side and Hugo Strange and Firefly are also set to appear in this season.
Oh and let’s not forget that that Carmine Falcone did retire, but he is going to come back sooner or later to reclaim his city, probably at the end of this season when, after being devastated by so much chaos, Carmine will realize that he is the only one with a tight enough grip to hold Gotham under control. At least until the bat makes his appearance.
