How long has it been since you’ve finished DOOM? If your answer is ‘recently,’ then throw away anything you’re playing right now ‘cause, according to Bethesda, DOOM, the number four game in the series, is poised to received a major ‘facelift.’
DOOM 4K Available for Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro
Because nothing spells ‘rampage’ better than award-winning DOOM, it would appear that the game is about to receive its long-awaited 4K version. Featuring revamped graphics fit for 4K-compatible monitors or smart TVs, players will be able to delve once more into the twisted world of the Predator suit-wearing marine, to stop the demonic horde from overrunning our planet.
Like always, Bethesda has refused to offer more details about the title but, from what we gathered, the latest version of the game will contain just the graphics improvements, the gameplay remaining basically the same.
According to the company, DOOM 4K will be available for download starting on the 29th of March. Unfortunately, at least for the time being, the 4K version will be compatible with PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X consoles, with the PC version probably on its way.
If you’re looking for the ultimate Doom experience, you might want to replay the entire series, fan-made mods included (you should definitely give the ultra-realism mode a try).
This is not the first and not the last game for which Bethesda planned a major graphics overhaul, with many more to be announced. For now, grab your Predator suit and chainsaw and start cutting through those filthy Mancubuses.
For some amusing related to the universe, you could also try MiniDoom and its sequel, MiniDoom 2, two very good sidescrollers which kind of remind us of the first Duke Nukem games.
Please feel free to leave a comment about your DOOM 4K experiences.
