2018’s Funniest Passwords

Passwords

Here’s what 2016 has to offer in terms of funny passwords.

What’s the first thing that you think about when creating a new social media account or installing an operating system? If setting up a password was your answer, then you are correct.

Although the process of setting up passwords is an easy one ( a thing of something personal like your date of birth or your significant other’s name), the task is much harder than you think.

There’s little paranoid gremlin that lives in each of use called privacy. Setting up passwords for your computer or devices is basically the same thing as wanting to install locks on your door – to protect your assets.

While most users understand what it means to set up a strong password, others chose to ignore this aspect, coming up with easy to remember passkeys. And here’s the damned if you do, damned if you don’t paradox – if the password you chose is too long or complex, you might not remember it, but a simpler password might leave your PC or mobile device vulnerable to Peeping Toms.

Now the simplest way to generate and to keep track of your passwords is to use applications such as LastPass, KeePass, 1Password, or Keeper. They’re great for people who don’t want to clutter their brain with tons of passwords, and they have great security features.

Which leads us to the subject of this article – password-choosing no-nos. Users with tons with imagination will choose passwords associated with their favorite video games, novel characters, or even TV shows. Others would simply type in some random stuff just to finish this part of the registration process.

Probably the funniest password ever to be used is “1234567890”, which is a variation on “1234.” Other funny passwords include pastime activities such as “football.” Of course, the list of funniest passwords ca not be complete without any movie references. To this end, some users chose passwords such as “starwars,” “princess” or “solo” for their devices/online accounts.

Other are more imaginative when it comes to online security, choosing stuff like “welcome,” “dragon,” “mynoob,” “master” or even “google.” And last, but not least, we have a user who chose probably the funniest password of all times: “letmein.”

Now, if you’re not keen on using a passwords manager, here’s our advice to you. Choose a password that has at least eight characters, and try to use a combination of upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and symbols.
