Alpine police officials have declared that the investigation of Zuzu Verk’s murder and disappearance is about to be concluded. During a recent press conference, Ronny Dodson of the Brewster County Sheriff’s Office has declared that the human remains recovered from the shallow grave in West Texas unequivocally belong to 22-year-old Zuzu Verk, the woman who has vanished without a trace in October 2016.
Recently, the authorities have declared that the human remains discovered last week scattered around a shallow grave located in West Texas have been positively identified as belonging to Zuzu Verk. The coroner’s report concluded that the woman’s body must have been torn apart by wild animals shortly after she was buried.
As you can recall, last week, the Alpine police department arrested 26-year-old Robert Fabian, Zuzu Verk’s boyfriend, and charged him with tampering with physical evidence by concealing a corpse. However, the man could not have been accused of murder since there was no body to be found.
Upon investigating the area near Fabian’s Alpine residence, the police officials discovered a hastily dug grave and some human remains scattered around it. Upon examining the shallow grave, the investigators discovered some items which might have been related to the disappearance of Zuzu Verk.
The woman was last seen alive on the 12th of October 2016. She and Robert Fabian went to see a movie together at one of their friend’s house. Before leaving the house, some of the neighbors recall hearing Zuzu Verk and Robert Fabian arguing. Several days later, the woman’s boyfriend called the police in order to report her disappearance.
Last week, the man was arrested for concealing a corpse. In addition, according to the authorities, Robert Fabian was considered a person of interest from the beginning of the case. The Alpine Police Department declared that Fabian was involved in another missing person case a few years ago. Ironically, the person who went missing was also Fabian’s girlfriend.
And now, the authorities have confirmed that the human remains recovered from the West Texas shallows grave belonged to the 22-year-old Zuzu Verk. At the moment, the authorities have refused to release any information regarding Fabian’s motive for killing Verk or about the murder weapon.
What we do know is that Fabian wasn’t acting alone. After IDing the human remains, authorities have 28-year-old Chris Estrada, one of Fabian’s closest friends, and charged him with corpse concealment.
