Due to its great number of animals, this migration has been entitled one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world.

It is clear for us now that technology plays an important role in the modern world, but now it seems to expand its importance, as it comes in touch with even with the wildlife. For all the wildlife lovers out there, they will have the possibility to watch a migration, as the wildebeest migration will be broadcasted live for the first time.

Along with the wildebeests, other animals such as zebras and gazelles will leave Serengeti in search of better places to feed themselves.

Due to its great number of animals, this migration has been entitled one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world, so there is no surprise many people want to see it live, thing which is now possible on every device having an Internet connection.

The migration started on September 29 and it will be broadcasted until October 5. The broadcasting team uses an application called Periscope and it has an almost 20-minute live transmission.

The broadcast offers something special, as it is based on an interaction between the commentators, who can describe the events, and the viewers, who can ask questions and receive immediate answers.

Carel Verhoef, a team member of HerdTracker, the broadcasting corporation, states that, taking into consideration all the facilities, people should really watch the event.

HerdTracker began its activity in 2014. It locates the migration using Google maps and collaborating with pilots, rangers and safari guides.

Verhoef had been a safari guide for approximately 10 years. During this period, he saw many people coming to Africa to see this event, but many of them left disappointed after they had closely missed the migration. So he came up with this idea of broadcasting the event.

This migration is one of the largest in the world. The animals start from Serengeti and aim to reach Masai Mara as their final destination.

On their way, the animals have to cross the Grumeti River, a place which poses a threat to them, because it is populated by hungry crocodiles. Other possible dangers are represented by lions and hyenas. During the migration, more than 250,000 animals died. The distance they manage to cover varies from 1500 to 1800 miles.

The migration is an exceptional event which should not be missed. It is not known how much it will last, so people should watch live an event that soon may become history and future generations may read about it in books.
