After CES 2017, we have one more reason to love 2017. During the presentations, EA and Bioware announced the launch date of the latest installment in the Mass Effect. Called Mass Effect Andromeda, the new title is scheduled to hit the market on the 21st of March in North American and on the 23rd of March in the rest of the globe.
So, the game is afoot, as our dear Sherlock Holmes would put it. But what about Mass Effect Andromeda? Will it be as good as its predecessors? We believe that it will be more awesome than Mass Effect 2, and that’s saying a lot.
Developer Bioware and published EA had the courtesy of making available a short presentation clip on YouTube. No, it’s not another presentation trailer, teaser trailer, cinematic trailer or trailer trailer. It’s an actual gameplay trailer, which reveals more details about the upcoming title.
If we can recall correctly, the game’s cinematic trailer showed a mysterious character dressed in full tactical gear accessing a console in order to chart a destination. The clip ended with the same character assaulting an enemy position – doesn’t say too much about the game’s story.
Luckily, Bioware and EA’s new YouTube trailer sheds some more light on the mystery which is called Mass Effect Andromeda. Using a ship called Tempest (very similar to Shepherd’s Normandy), the player travels from one corner of the galaxy to another, battling foes, solving quests, and earning lots and lots of credits.
The new trailer shows us just how much the Mass Effect game evolved regarding combat mechanics. As you can see, it’s easier to access your weapon’s menu, change weapons, and use those special abilities.
We also had the privilege of witnessing the skill tree, which will, no doubt, be very useful in bringing down even the toughest foe. In addition, the clip also shows us a part of Tempest’s crew – two individuals called Cora and Peedee (don’t know if they are an actual name or if the player renamed them in the case of spoiler alerts).
The graphics are simply breathtaking, and the special effects are something to behold. All in all, we have to say that Mass Effect Andromeda seems to have all the ingredients of a great RPG, one that will make you waste your nights away in front of your console or computer. By the way, once released, the game will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
