Vlogger Eugenia Cooney is a 22 years old girl from New York, with almost nine hundred thousand subscribers to her YouTube channel. However, the youtuber is currently going through a bad time, as an online petition suggests that she is extremely thin and prone to anorexia. People who signed the petition also argue that the emo-looking girl is not aware of her disease.
Thousands and thousands of people signed the online petition addressed to YouTube in order to ban Eugenia Cooney’s channel. They think that the girl is suffering from anorexia and she doesn’t even know it. The action is meant to determine her get specialized help for her problem.
On the other hand, vlogger Eugenia Cooney feels that this action only shows that people are upset and hate her. She made a video apologizing to those that she might have upset with no intention. She doesn’t think that she needs any help and feels that the people who initiated the petition are not a support group for her, as they claim to be.
Moreover, she states that she is naturally thin and she doesn’t induce the state to herself. She is happy with the way she is, but she also stresses that she is not trying to persuade other girls to be like her. One of the accusations of the petitioners was that vlogger Eugenia Cooney was promoting anorexia on her channel.
In addition to this, the young girl feels like she is facing a wave of hate from people in the online environment. She is not pleased with the situation because she did nothing to deserve such a reaction from them, as she states. Her videos are not related to weight problems, but they are just exposing herself as she is.
Vlobber Eugenia Cooney declared that by no means does she intend to influence her viewers. She doesn’t claim that people should be like her and she is not trying to persuade anyone about their eating habits. The only thing she wants to convince people about is that she doesn’t suffer from anorexia or other eating disorder.
Eugenia Cooney is living with her parents, and her financial support comes from her YouTube subscribers. The videos she makes are related to fashion and make-up subjects, but the people who signed the petition seem to be angry because she shows off too much of her body, which they consider to look unhealthy.
The petitioners claim they are doing this for her own good. YouTube hasn’t released an official statement on the matter yet.
