A Virginia dad managed to earn the respect of his family and not to mention his Facebook friends after he shared a new parenting technique. As part of his punishment for bullying his classmates, the dad made his son run to school instead of taking the bus.
Virginia Dad Says Method Showed Remarkable Results After a Week
Bryan Thornhill is the Virginia dad who seemed to have patented a parenting technique that showed remarkable results. According to the man, the whole thing started last week when he got a call from one of his 10-year-old son’s teachers.
Apparently, Thornhill’s son has been reprimanded after he bullied one of his classmates. As a result, the boy has been temporarily banned from using the school bus. As the Virginia dad is an adept of the teaching that a child needs a parent and not a friend, he devised a clever way to teach his son that it’s never a good idea to bully your classmates.
And so, on the very next morning, while it was raining cats and dogs outside, he told his son that the only way he was going to school was by running there. But the man did not stop there. As soon as the 10-year-old started running, the Virginia dad jumped into his car and began tailgating him, while filming the whole thing.
Of course, the man posted the clip on his Facebook account. At times, you can hear the man jousting the boy to pick up some speed. Thornhill said that his method was so efficient, that his son managed to stay out of trouble.
Needless to say, many parents applauded the man’s efforts. However, other assumed a more critical posture, telling Thornhill that it would have been much easier to talk to the boy about his need to bully than to make him run in the rain.
