Women from all over the U.S. had the chance to learn from National Women’s Health Week regarding their healthcare. All women who are facing health issues have been encouraged to change their perspective and to adopt a different lifestyle.
Carson City Health has recently joined the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health to develop a major project designed to help women and adequately advise them how to make their lives healthier.
By making the best choices and by being committed to their goals women can substantially improve their health.
You need to see a doctor first to get some preventive screenings just in case. This way you can always find out early whether you have a health issue or not. Furthermore, women are advised to get a PAP smear at least once in 3 to 5 years, and to get mammograms depending on risk factors and age.
The next step is to set a daily goal for physical exercises. It is imperative to be active for at least 30 minutes every day. The purpose of this step is to help you maintain a healthy weight, improve mood and lower the prospect of cancer and heart disease.
You don’t know what type of effort to make? Go ahead and take the bike to work, choose the stairs over the elevator or simply walk around the neighbourhood.
Furthermore, make sure you eat healthy. Around 70 percent of the source of any disease comes from unhealthy food, so you must have a healthy diet. You don’t need to starve yourself but instead, try to eat more vegetables, fruits, whole grains and try to depend more on proteins.
This way you will get enough nutrients to stay healthy, and it will help you prevent diabetes, heart disease or cancer. But the most important tip is to be aware of anything that might affect your mental health. Therefore, find a positive way to manage stress, be sure you get enough sleep and take some free time for yourself.
Women must understand that physical and mental health are connected. You can reduce the level of stress by doing an activity that you enjoy or simply by hanging out with your friends. In the end, if you are depressed or stressed there is no reason to hesitate seeking help.
