The Benefits of PlayStation Plus
Sony Corporation decided to play very smart when they implemented the PlayStation Plus subscription. Every month, the company announces a new set of free games for the PlayStation 4 via the subscription. And while the program was initially launched with the idea of offering one game for free, Sony upped their game a little and are now offering 2 free games each month.
Want to know exactly what players got from their subscription? This month, the happy subscribers got games like “Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris”, “Drive Club PS+ Edition”, “Limbo”, “Infamous: First Light”, “Resogun” and the infamous “Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes”. Pretty good games for a monthly subscription.
And to top it off, one PlayStation Plus membership is not only limited to the PlayStation 4, but the PlayStation 3 and Playstation Vita just the same. So if you want to game on, you can game on either one of these platforms.
Did we say “top it off”? Don’t worry, there’s even more on the way. Besides giving free games, which is a great bonus from the beginning, the subscription also allows users to purchase their games with noticeable discounts and, of course, it sets the path for online multiplayer gaming. Imagine that you can occasionally get a discount on an already discounted game. Sounds like discount heaven.
Microsoft Corporation hasn’t moved on ignoring the competition, so they developed a program with the same features for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360. If you are interested, Bidness etc. are putting their money on one of Ubisoft Entertainment’s creations next month, none other than “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag”. This game is highly expected to be free in September.
So why is this game expected so much? Mostly because Microsoft included it in the free offering that occurred last month for the Xbox One. Thus, it is possible that PlayStation will come from behind in order to compete with Microsoft. It is also because the game is almost 2 years old now, so a good deal would not be a bad idea after all.
It is custom that one big game such as this one is followed by an indie one, but Sony recently declared that, starting with September, players will be able to choose from a list of games what games they want for the following month. Yet again, a great move from Sony that is going to bring long term profit and is going to make players really happy.
