A recent study says women don’t like flowers that much. It seems that more than half of the ladies that are surprised with a big wonderful smelling bouquet of flowers for Valentine’s Day are actually disappointed by the gesture. Also, approximately 70 percent out of the women in question declared that they wish to receive something else entirely.
A recent survey that was taken on a sample of 2,000 women by the Fragrance Caption Company has revealed that more than fifty percent out of the women who receive flowers for Valentine’s Day are disappointed by the gift, and more than seventy percent out of the cited women would prefer to be gifted something else entirely.
Furthermore, it seems that thirty-eight percent considered fresh flowers to be a waste of the giver’s money while another seventy percent wished to receive a gift that can be kept forever rather than see it wither away and die in a colorful vase.
On the other hand, Durex sponsored a poll which concluded that almost seventy percent of adults have begun to dread the holiday because of its increasing commercial value.
But let’s not forget that twelve percent of the surveyed men responded that they buy flowers from a gas station as a last resort, and another twenty-two admitted to buying flowers because they didn’t find any alternatives or they didn’t have the time to look for another present.
The world is torn apart between women that want nice gifts that will last them a lifetime and men than consider Valentine’s Day just another reason for which they are forced by the media to spend money on unnecessary items.
One would say that some flowers would to the trick because of their romantic nature, but the study says women don’t like flowers that much. It’s a lose-lose situation for both parties.
The spokesperson from the Fragrance Caption Company, Tamara Kullback, declared that she loves receiving flowers no matter if they are for Valentine’s Day or for any other day. But as a woman who works with fragrances, she says that flowers have lost their potent smell over the years and there are just colorful love symbols that wither and die in a matter of days.
And since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, men should draw some serious conclusions from the survey that was sponsored by the Fragrance Caption Company. The study says women don’t like flowers that much, so men, start shopping, and do it now.
