While most of us usually associate the term of ‘pregnancy’ with big words such as ‘responsibility’ and ‘lack of sleep,’ a renowned company from the United States showed that pregnancy could be funny as well.
A recent pregnancy test commercial has become viral on most social media channels, as users discovered a little flaw. Now, most of us know that even the thought of buying a pregnancy test makes you feel a little uneasy unless you desperately want a child and nothing about taking a pregnancy test can be considered remotely amusing.
However, Protector, the US company which commercializes pregnancy devices among other things managed to show us that even something as serious as motherhood has its amusing side. Now, the commercial in question looks pretty normal when you look at it for the first time.
So, we have a couple standing probably in their living room. The husband or the soon-to-be father, stands behind his wife, gently grasping her shoulder with his left hand. Both of them are dressed as if they are ten seconds away from going to the office, but that’s not the odd part.
As you would expect from a pregnancy test commercial, the woman is holding a pregnancy test in her hand. By the couple’s facial expressions (both of them look like they’ve just won the big prize at the lottery) we can easily assume that the test came out positive and that they will have to go out and buy baby stuff. Nothing unusual about this pregnancy test commercial so far.
However, upon taking a closer look, one would observe a tiny detail which kind of makes you wonder about the logic behind the commercial. The woman has a round and quite visible belly as if she is eight months pregnant, which means that she took the test in order to see that she is pregnant while pregnant.
Needless to say, that the Predictor pregnancy test commercial went viral on the Internet and has been the subject of countless of jokes on the Internet.
And this point, one wonders whether this detail was overlooked on purpose or not. If it is, then we can only say that this probably one of the most brilliant marketing strategies ever to be devised. But ours is not to question why is but to share and laugh.
