Colorado Father Severely Injured in Sports Bar Brawl
The Jefferson County authorities recently released a series of still pictures detailing a brawl that occurred at the Crossroads Pizza & Wings Bar, a sports bar located at 16 Mt. Evans Boulevard.
During the incident, 31-year-old Joel Michael Wilson and another man who has yet to be identified assaulted 39-year-old Richard Warry Brown. According to the authorities, Wilson and the man began punching Brown in the face.
At one point, the victim took his four-year-old daughter into his arms, allegedly in an attempt to shield her from Wilson and the other aggressor. The still pictures reveal that the attackers continued beating Brown, despite him holding the four-year-old in his arms.
Before leaving the bar, the aggressors managed to knock down Brown and continued hitting him in the face and abdomen. The man was later airlifted to the hospital where he received treatment for his injuries. According to the doctors, the man was severely injured in the sports bar brawl. Fortunately, his daughter was not harmed.
Wilson was later arrested by the Jefferson County deputies and charged with first- and second-degree assault, bodily injury, and child abuse. The man accompanying him has yet to be captured.
Brown, the Colorado father who was savagely beaten, might also be charged with a misdemeanor child abuse. However, the family insists that the blows caught Brown off-guard, being unable to put the child down.
