Remember Grumpy Cat, the feline who stole everyone’s heart with his grumpy face? Well, it would seem that Grumpy Cat will have to give up his limelight to another member of the feline family. Sinbad is a 9-year-old Persian cat, who was rescued by the members of an Animal Anti-Cruelty Society. He may not have a Grumpy Cat’s demeanor or Colonel Meow’s funny face, but Sinbad has a tear-jerking story.
Colette Bradley, the spokesperson of the Animal Anti-Cruelty Society which rescued Sinbad, declared that the Persian cat’s story began with a phone call from a utility worker.
While working in the basement of a house, the man discovered an abandoned cat trying. The man described the scene as being appalling. The cat was severely malnourished, and due to the fact that he wasn’t groomed for some time, the feline had to drag around four pound of matted fur. No one knows for sure how Sinbad wounded up in the basement, but he must have stayed there for some time, judging by the length of his fur.
The man called the Animal Anti-Cruelty Society, hoping that the cat can be rescued. The people who came in to pick up the feline declared that they have never seen a feline or any other animal for that matter in such an appalling condition.
According to Bradley, the feline named Sinbad belonged to an elderly person, who could no longer tend to the cat’s needs and had to abandon him. Sinbad’s former owner raised no objection when the society’s members said that they want to take him to the shelter in order and to try to find a new home for him.
Bradley said that Sinbad was probably the most difficult patient they ever had due to his condition. She said that the vets spend several hours trying to remove the matted fur from Sinbad’s skin. However, that was not the end of the story, because Sinbad’s condition demanded around-the-clock attention.
But with plenty of love, food, and support, the team managed to put the feline back on his feet and even found him a new home. During his stay at the animal shelter, Sinbad bonded with one the members of the Animal Anti-Cruelty Society. The man loved Sinbad so much that he decided to become his foster parent.
Right now, Sinbad has put one some weight, feels good, and is very playful.
