A former nurse is the author of the latest chain of murders. Elizabeth Wettlaufer recognized her actions in front of a jury. Her deeds span first-degree murders of eight residents of the nursing home in Southwestern Ontario she used to work for. On top of that, she also pleaded guilty to attempted murder on other fourth seniors she had in care. Her list of felonies between 2007 and 2016 concluded with two other counts of aggravated assaults. As a consequence, the serial killing nurse was sentenced to life prison.
Elizabeth Wettlaufer’s Profile Is Similar to That of a Homicidal Nurse Which Brought Her Lifetime Imprisonment
Elizabeth Wettlaufer represents the most dreadful serial killer in Canadian health industry history. She confessed to her crimes in clear voice. The former nurse claimed that she felt an urge to kill that she could satiate only by overdosing her senior patients with insulin.
“I thought this was something God, or whoever, wanted me to do. I’m so embarrassed.”
On the other hand, Wettlaufer doesn’t have anything to do with the folder of other prolific serial killers. She didn’t seduce her victims but merely announced them that they are getting the last minute vitamin shot at doctor’s recommendation.
After she had appeased her keeling urge, for the time being, she was going home to play video games. However, her profile does coincide with one archetype which is that of a homicidal nurse.
The College of Nurses of Ontario Called the Serial Killing Nurse to a Disciplinary Hearing
Now that she confessed to her crimes and received the lifetime sentence, the College of Nurses of Ontario called for a professional college disciplinary hearing. Wettlaufer confessed that she had overdosed some of the patients he had in her care with the only intent to satiate her keeling instinct and harm them.
The nurse was fired from Caressant Care in Woodstock, Ontario, yet not for the right reasons. The firing explanation revealed only a medication error committed in 2014. This situation allowed her to find work in someplace else and accomplish her final first-degree murder.
