Cleophus Cooksey Jr., a 35-year-old Phoenix resident responsible for the murder of his mother and stepfather, has been connected to seven other gun murders which took place within a three-week period. The serial killer is currently in custody after the authorities found him inside the house of his slain parents.
Phoenix Serial Killer Had a Lengthy Criminal Record
According to the authorities, Cleophus Cooksey Jr.’s string of murders has been discovering following a domestic disturbance call received on the 17th of December. Upon entering the house, the officers on duty discovered the bloodied corpses of 54-year-old Edward Nunn and 56-year-old Rene Cooksey, Cleophus’ mother.
The man was found inside the house, in an apparent state of distress, trying to conceal something from the police officers. Cleophus was arrested and charged with double homicide. However, several days later, the investigators discovered that the man was actually behind seven more murders which took place over the past three weeks.
The ballistic report revealed that the bullets discovered in the bodies of seven other victims were fired from the same gun Cleophus had in his possession at the time of his arrest. According to the timeline, the Phoenix Serial Killer’s first victim was Clephus’s brother’s girlfriend, followed by Andrew Remillard and Parker Smith on the 27th of November. Both bodies were found in a Phoenix parking lot.
Unfortunately, those were not the man’s last victims, on the 2nd of December Cleophus killing Salim Richards, a mall security guard. On the 9th of December, the mentally ill gunman will Jesus Real and raped his sister.
Cleophu’s last victims before killing his own parents were Lattorrie Beckford, found dead on the 13th of December and Kristopher Cameron, whose body was found on the 15th of December over what appeared to be a ruined drug transaction.
