A North Carolina mom has decided to press charges against a day care worker who breastfed her 3-month-old lactose intolerant son without her permission. The woman declared that she told the worker at least two times that she is not to breastfeed the infant. Several hours later, the woman rushed her child to the hospital as he was vomiting.
Kaycee Oxendine, a North Carolina mom, has decided to press formal charged against a day care worker from Carrboro Early School. Oxendine declared that the woman taking care of her 3-month-old infant ignored her express orders not to breastfeed him, resulting in a trip to the nearby emergency room.
On Friday, Oxendine was informed by her son’s teacher that her child was constipated. One of the daycare workers told the woman that breastfeeding might alleviate the child’s symptoms, and volunteered to do it.
However, Oxendine told the woman on two separate occasions that she is not to breastfeed the child. According to the North Carolina mom, her 3-month-old son was born prematurely and was diagnosed by his doctors with lactose intolerance, meaning that his body can’t digest milk or dairy products.
After reviewing a security footage, the establishment’s manager discovered that after Oxendine had left, the day care worker took the woman’s baby, took a seat, adjusted her top, and began to breastfeed the infant. The footage reveals that the worker must have breastfed him for at least a couple of minutes.
Several hours later after bringing his son home, the woman was forced to rush him to the local emergency room, as the child was feeling ill and kept vomiting. After seeing the tape, the North Carolina mom has decided to press formal charges against the day care workers who disobeyed her orders.
After the management reviewed the security tape, they’ve immediately rescinded the day care worker’s contract. Daron Council, the director of Carrboro Early School, declared that this is the first incident he had to deal with since the opening of the establishment.
Council added that only last year a commission from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services inspected his facilities and offered a superior grade. Shortly after discovering the day care worker’s deed, the North Carolina mom has contacted the authorities who have begun an investigation. The day care worker might be charged with misdemeanor child abuse for feeding the child against her mother’s wishes.
