If you’re tired of using the same old emojis in your conversations, then you will be absolutely thrilled to find out that the Unicode Consortium has just released the official Emoji 5.0 list. This means that this summer, we will have 60 new emojis at our disposal. And if you thought that the old list of Unicode-approved icons was crazy, then one will certainly rock your world.
So, are you eager to find out all about the all-new emoji list? Well, as part of their effort to make the online space a safer, fun, and more creative place, the Unicode Consortium aka the guys in charge of saying which emojis, emoticons, and icons are good and which are downright offensive, has just released the Emoji 5.0 list.
Now, upon taking a closer look at this new document passed down by the all-knowing and all-seeing Unicode Consortium, we realize that beginning in June, we will have 60 totally new ways to express ourselves when we chat we someone.
Let’s start by presenting some of the hottest emojis included in Unicode’s recently released list. Of course, no new generation of emoticons can’t be complete without the passive-aggressive doodled faces. So, Unicode’s latest release includes the rolling smiling face, the grinning, star-in-eye face, the ‘What did You Just Say?’ smiley, and the ‘Will you Look at That Nvidia 1080 TI?’ face.
Moving on, we have the mind-blown smiley, the ‘I drank too energy drinks this morning’ face, and an angry, red face, with a couple of symbols in front of its mouth. And now, let’s get to those who are truly wacky.
One of the most peculiar additions to the list of new emojis is vomiting, followed by lady with purple hijab, wizard, Tinker Bell, mermaid staring blankly into the abyss, woman holding up a spoon, 70s disco douche wearing a blue suit, a lady breastfeeding, an emoji that looks a lot like Legolas from Lord of the Rings.
For those of you with an appetite for truly bizarre emoticons, starting this summer, you will also be able to use Count Dracula, Genie from Aladdin, zombie, water polo player, male fairy, the rock on the sign, a blue cap with a smiley face on it, and the pregnant lady. Animals have also been included in this list, such as owl, bat, duck, lizard, giraffe, gorilla, red panda, platypus, American Eagle, and something which resembles the Loch Ness monster.
