The footage reveals that the man tried a couple of handles to see if any of the cars were unlocked.
After a while, the McLawhorn found an unlocked vehicle, entered it, and started to look around for any valuables. This incident why incriminated McLawhorn took place on Tuesday morning, one day before Ferguson’s death.
The authorities revealed that shortly after the man finished rummaging around the vehicle, he went up to stairs to check if any of the apartments’ doors were unlocked. McLawhorn must have entered Ferguson’s apartment through an opened window.
What’s even more puzzling is that the suspect actually got in an out a couple of times, before being caught in the act by Tiffany Ferguson. The woman confronted the man, but the suspect panicked and stabbed Ferguson a couple of times with a knife he had in his possession.
Hearing the commotion coming from the other room, Ferguson’s roommate went to investigate, only to find her friend lying on the floor in a pool of blood. The woman told the authorities that there was no one else in the room when she went in.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said that the evidence collected from the scene of the crime and the surveillance footage are more than enough to convict McLawhorn in the case of the Nashville slaying.
