The Anaheim elderly couple that went missing since Mother’s Day was found in San Diego County, after weeks of search.
Dianna Bedwell, 68-years old and Cecil Knutson, 79-years old were found near a Boy Scout camp in Warner Springs by the San Diego Sheriff’s Office.
A private investigator confirmed that while Dianna is still alive, even if in serious medical condition, for Cecil they arrived too late.
While being transported to the hospital for urgent medical care, Cecil’s wife told the team that they were on their way to their son’s home in La Quinta when they got lost trying to find a shortcut.
The unfortunate events rolled out on May 10th, when the couple took their car to drive to their son’s residence in La Quinta in order to enjoy a family dinner planned for Mother’s Day. After stopping at the Valley View Casino where they were last seen, they took to the road and looked for a shortcut.
Cecile and Dianna lost their way and the vehicle remained trapped near the Boy Scouts camp where no communication was possible. Both Cecile and Dianna were diagnosed with diabetes.
Due to his medical condition and lack of water and nourishment, Cecil Knutson passed away. His body was found outside the vehicle.
For Dianna, it is almost a miracle she escaped death. She is in urgent need of medical care for dehydration, having been found unconscious near the Schoepe Scout Reservation, Lost Valley, on the Chihuahua Valley Road only this Sunday.
The ISC Investigations private company employed by the family of the elders confirmed the news of Cecil and Dianne having been found on their Facebook page. The Sheriff’s Office stated for the press that the couple and the car they were last spotted in was found by a crew of people riding off-road vehicles in the area.
The finding of Dianna Bedwell and Cecil Knutson offers at least a closure to the family and friends of the couple that had been together for 25 years.
The area where they got lost, Chihuahua Valley, while on their way to their son’s Mother’s Day Dinner is located 40 miles east from Valley View Casino and in between La Quinta and Valley Center.
