Michigan authorities have begun a state-wide manhunt for 24-year-old Candice Renea Diaz and 28-year-old Edward Fields, her boyfriend. The Michigan murderous couple is believed to be responsible for the torture, burning, and death of their 4-year-old daughter.
Michigan Murderous Couple Still on the Run
The law enforcement authorities have begun combing the state in search for Diaz and Fields, the couple responsible for the death of a 4-year-old child. According to a Sumpter Township PD spokesperson, at the beginning of January, the authorities have been summoned to the Sumpter Township trailer park.
A distressed caller told the 911 operator that a small infant was found unresponsive and that a family member was performing CPR. Shortly after arriving at the scene, the emergency responders discovered a 4-year-old infant in critical condition with severe scorch marks on her body.
The infant was rushed to the local hospital for emergency life-saving procedures but died shortly afterward.
On the 3rd of January, the official Medical Examiner’s stated that the child’s death befell under the legal classification of homicide. Moreover, the report also established that apart from the intentional scorch marks found on the infant’s body, there were undeniable signs of Battered Child Syndrome – unhealed and repeated trauma over an extended period.
The suspects in the infant’s dead are Candice Renea Diaz, her mother and Edward Fields, her boyfriend. Diaz and Field have fled their home before the authorities could have a chance to bring them in for questioning.
When the suspects were last seen, they were driving a 2002 black Chevrolet Cavalier, plate number DTR1854. Citizens who have any information regarding the couple’s whereabouts should immediately call the emergency number.
As the Sumpter Township PD’s report says, the Michigan murderous couple has a long history of violence. Back in May 2016, the law enforcement officers were summoned to the trailer park after Fields shot the family dog and barricaded himself inside the house, threatening to commit suicide.
The report also mentions that during his outburst, Fields threatened to shoot Diaz, the child’s mother.
