Maryland authorities have reported that two students from the Rockville High School have been taken into custody after a female student accused them of raping her in the high school’s bathroom. Upon their arrest, the authorities have learned that the two are immigrants from Guatemala and El Salvador and have illegally crossed the country through the Mexico border. Both 9th-grade students will be trialed and punished as adults.
According to Maryland authorities, on Tuesday at approximately 9 am, 17-year-old Jose O. Montano and 18-year-old Henry E. Sanchez-Milian, both from the town of Aspen Hill, approached a female student on one of the school’s hallways.
The female student told the investigators that after being approached by the two 9th graders, one of them asked if she’s willing to sleep with him. The girl declined the student’s offer and tried to leave. However, Montano asked her again if she’d be willing to have sex with him.
When the female high school student refused him for the second time, Montano and Sanchez-Milian forced the girl to enter the boy’s bathroom and raped her. Shortly after the incident, the Rockville High School notified the Rockville Police Department who took the 9th graders into custody.
Sanchez-Milian and Montano have been charged with a first-degree sexual offense and first-degree rape. Both Maryland students are being detained at the county’s jail pending their trial. According to the Maryland authorities, the magistrates decided to post no bond, and that both should be trialed as an adult, giving the aggravated circumstances surrounding their crime.
Upon processing the juvenile delinquents, the Maryland authorities have been informed by the US Immigration and Customs Office that the two high school students are, in fact, an illegal immigrant. Furthermore, it would seem that Montano was caught last year, in August, as he was trying to cross into the US through the Mexico border.
The investigation revealed that Sanchez-Milian is from Guatemala, while his comrade is from El Salvador. Moreover, one of the magistrates in charge of Sanchez’s case revealed that the teen is also involved in an alien removal case.
The authorities refused to offer any details regarding the victim’s condition. As for her assailants, it would appear that Montano is scheduled to appear before the court for his preliminary hearing on the 31st of March. Sanchez-Milian is scheduled to appear in front of the magistrates on the 14th of April.
