Federal agents have recently seized a large quantity of high-power weapons from an illegal arms dealer who has set up shop in his house. According to the authorities, the illegal arms dealer has convicted twenty years ago for transporting meth and was not allowed to have firearms in his possession.
Illegal Arms Dealer Was Not Picky about Customers
According to the federal agents who recently arrested the Fresno illegal arms dealer, the man was not too picky about his clientele, selling his weapons to whoever matched his offer. The alleged weapons dealer is 39-year-old James Bowen, a man with a lengthy criminal record, as pointed out by U.S. Attorney Scott McGregor.
Bowen, who was arrested and convicted twenty years ago for transporting methamphetamine, was not allowed to possess any kind of firearms, regardless of caliber.
The federal agents have worked several months undercover in order to bust Bowen’s illegal operation, buying firearms from the man’s home and discreetly asking about his sources. Last week, the man was taken into custody and charged with possession of firearms by convicted felon.
A search of the house revealed that the man has managed to amass quite an arsenal, law enforcement officers confiscating 221 high-power weapons – pistols, shotguns, and assault rifles. Moreover, the investigation revealed that most of the items sold by the Fresno illegal arms dealer had attachments and modifications which are illegal in the state of California.
The investigation revealed that Bowen was also selling various tactical items such as bulletproof vests and silencers. Weapons manufacturing gear was also discovered in the man’s house.
McGregor, the U.S. attorney who orchestrates Bowen’s case, declared that the man might the be the worst criminal in American history, but the guns he was selling are sure to be used for nefarious purposes.
