Florida Man Says His Sorry for Stepping Out of Line with Roommate’s Dog
On Wednesday, the Flager County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 21-year-old Brenden Geary, a Palm Coast resident, who allegedly tried to kill his roommate’s dog. According to the authorities, on Tuesday, Geary was left alone in the house with Dixie after his roommate, identified as Shaffer O’Neil, left for work.
Dixie is an 11-pound Yorkshire Terrier and quite friendly, according to O’Neil. While at home with the dog, Geary claims that the dog went into the bathroom to relieve himself, despite being trained to go outside.
At that point, Geary lost his temper and began beating the dog. The police report indicates that the Florida man pummeled the dog using his fists and feet and tried to suffocate it.
Dixie was found by O’Neill in an unconscious state and was rushed to the nearest vet clinic. After spending the night at the vet, Dixie was released home. According to the vet, when O’Neill brought Dixie, the dog had bloodshot eyes after being chocked by the Florida man.
Following this incident, the man was arrested and charged with aggravated animal cruelty. Fortunately, the authorities were alerted in time and managed to punish the perpetrator before he had a chance to kill the dog.
Other pets are less fortunate, such as the case of the two-week-old kitten whose had her skull crashed on tape by two teens who asked their subscriber for a pizza in exchange for viewing the video or the woman who tried to euthanize her old dog with a hatchet and a knife.
