Because no week can be complete without a story about what people do behind the wheel after they’ve had one too many drinks, we give you the story of a 24-year-old from Spring Hill, Florida who recently got arrested for DUI. The Florida driver was taken into custody after a police helicopter spotted him sleeping on the street, between two air-conditioning units.
Florida Driver Had a Blood Alcohol Level of .316 Percent
Last week, the Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies received a call from some concerned citizens about an individual who was driving like a madman through an apartment complex. According to the statement gathered from the eyewitnesses, the Florida driver was swerving uncontrollably down the road, later knocking down a few mailboxes and hitting several vehicles parked outside the Hibiscus Spring apartment complex.
The Florida driver, who was later identified as 24-year-old Collin James Daniel, parked his car in front of the building as if nothing happened and took a brisk walk.
On his way home, he encountered another individual who was walking his German Shepherd. Allegedly, Daniel went to the man and started talking with him. The argument became heated and, after a short while, the Florida driver shoved the dog owner who, in turn, loosed his dog’s leash.
Panicking, Daniel walked away, resuming his journey home. Several minutes later, the sheriff’s deputies found Daniel fast asleep on the street, tucked between two air-conditioned unit.
The man was field-tested for blood alcohol level. According to the Florida Highway Patrol troopers, the man’s blood alcohol level indicated .0316 percent, whereas the legal limit in the state of Florida is .08 percent.
Following his night antics in the Hibiscus Spring neighborhood, the Florida driver was arrested and charged with DUI and, of course, battery.
