Hell Breaks Loose at New York Wedding. Firefighters Arrested.
According to the Wading River Police Department, on Saturday, several agencies were summoned to the East Wind Caterers, a Long Island-based wedding organizer, after a massive broke. Following the arrival of the law enforcement officials, several intoxicated partygoers have been taken into custody including four firefighters.
Among the rowdy wedding attendees that ended up behind bars are 29-year-old first lieutenant Corey Citarella, 55-year-old Thomas Dunham, a fire assistant chief, and Dunham’s sons, 21-year-old Brendan and 29-year-old Andrew.
According to the official police report, the Dunham and Citarella were arrested after they’ve assaulted a police sergeant who was also attending the wedding. Fortunately, no one was severely injured during the brawl, save for a couple of scratches.
At this point, the authorities are trying to determine how the brawl erupted. The preliminary investigation revealed that the fight was between the catering staff and the partygoers. Somewhere between 40 and 50 highly intoxicated people were involved in the scuffle.
Following the regrettable event, it would appear that the man of the hour (the groom) needed hospitalization, as he sustained injuries to his upper body and face. One eyewitness told the authorities that at one point during the fight, he saw three men repeatedly punching the groom.
The law enforcement officials who moved in to calm down the partygoers also sustained face and head injuries. After being taken into custody, the four firefighters got out on bail the same day. The groom is still at the hospital.
