A 52-year-old female pastor from Dallas has recently been sentenced to 99 years in prison without parole for the murder of a toddler. According to the court document, the woman attempted to drive away the demon that sought refuge inside the boy’s body by denying him food.
Female Pastor Case Stirs Attorney and Dallas Jury
Last week, a Dallas jury found 52-year-old Aracely Meza guilty as charged for the 2015 death of Benjamin Aparicio.
According to the prosecution, the events that culminated with the death of the toddler started to unfold at the beginning of 2015, when Benjamin’s parents sought the help of their local parish in order to deal with the boy’s ‘strange’ behavior.
The court documents reveal that Meza was the one who spoke with the family and that she agreed to pay them a visit an ‘asses’ the child’s alleged condition. After spending only a few minutes with Benjamin, the female pastor concluded that the toddler was, without a doubt, possessed by a supernatural entity, that was trying to torment both him and his family.
Meza told Benjamin’s parents that his only hope of salvation was a cleansing ritual – an exorcism. Baffling enough, the boy’s parents gave the woman carte blanche, who then discussed with the details of the supposed ceremony.
For three weeks, the child was kept without food, not even a morsel, while the female pastor recited the words of the ritual. To prove to the world that their son was indeed possessed, the couple taped the female pastor as she spanked the boy and ordered the demon to depart his body.
The last video depicting this strange ritual shows Meza picking up the toddler’s dead body and mumming the words of what she claimed to be a resurrection ritual.
Meza was sentenced to spend 99 years in prison without parole and to pay a fine of $10,000. According to the prosecutors, Benjamin’s family might also be brought up on charges.
