Great news from Bethesda! In a recent online statement, Bethesda announced that Fallout Shelter, the iOS and Android vault-building and management game would become available for Windows 10 and Xbox One starting on the 7th of February. What this means is that you will not have to fool around with Android emulator any longer just to play the game.
According to Bethesda’s online statement, the Windows 10 and Xbox One version of the ever-popular Fallout Shelter will feature all DCLs and packs released for the Android and iOS version of the game. Basically, this means that the upcoming version of the game will feature pets, new skills, shelter denizen customization options, blueprints, and new room.
Furthermore, as Bethesda added, this version will also include the new quest system and the improved combat mode. To play the game, the users will need to download Bethesda’s launcher from the Xbox Store.
Of course, both game and launcher are free for download, and the new version of Fallout Shelter will also have an in-game store which allows players to use real money in order to speed up vault operations or to buy new stuff for their dwellers.
So, what’s up with Fallout Shelter? For those of you who hadn’t have a chance to download and play Bethesda’s mobile game, here’s a rundown of the game’s feature. Fallout Shelter puts the player in the boots of a vault’s Overseer (like the creepy dude who tried to hunt you down in Fallout 3) whose job is to keep the citizens happy and the vault running.
As the Overseer, you will need to perform various actions in order to ensure the vault’s smooth operation. First of all, you will need a strong workforce, but that’s not much of a problem considering that tens of Wasteland refugees will come banging at your door.
You will have to build rooms, maintain them, assign workers, feed them, provide them with clothes and medical treatment if the need arises, and, of course, protect them from the dangers of the Wasteland.
If you need more building materials or weapons, you can always arm your vault dwellers and send them on resource scavenging missions. There are tons of stuff to discover in Fallout Shelter – mutants to kill, weapons to be picked up, and rooms to be expanded. It’s up to you to decide what kind of Overseer you will be.
