Facebook videos have hundreds of views every minute. This is why Facebook decided that it is time to make a change. The company announced that Facebook videos will soon autoplay with sound. The problem is that many people are not pleased by this decision.
When people are scrolling a Facebook page, videos normally autoplay but without sound. This gives users the ability to choose whether or not they want to play the video. The problem is that from now on users won’t be able to do so. Facebook videos will autoplay with sound and that can be a problem if you are in a public place and you don’t want others to see what you are looking at.
Another problem with the sound autoplaying on Facebook videos is that you can only stop it if you scroll up or down. Many people mentioned that they don’t like this new feature that Facebook wants to integrate. They said that they prefer it the way it is now.
Despite the fact that people don’t want Facebook videos to play with sound, the company announced that they are not changing their mind. The decision was announced on Wednesday in a blog post by the company.
The good news is that when you have your smartphone on silent the videos will not autoplay with sound. Another way to make sure that these videos won’t play with sound is to disable this feature. All you have to do is to go to Settings and disable the autoplay feature.
Facebook is also integrating the ability to play a video while scrolling down in the app. Users just have to minimize the video and keep scrolling down a Facebook page if they want to benefit from this new feature. This way the video will keep playing with sound while you look at other posts.
The Facebook videos features that have been added will be available for both Android and iOS devices. Facebook also announced that they are going to release a video app to stores for Amazon Fire TV, Samsung Smart TV, and Apple TV.
What is your opinion about these new features? Do you usually watch Facebook videos when you scroll down in the News Feed?
