Cars franchise so far had its ups and downs. It started off as a delicious and refreshing story only to lose its fans through a confusing follow-up movie. However, Walt Disney put a lot of effort into this third installment and might have just succeeded a spectacular comeback. Cars 3 has already gathered great appraise from critics ahead of its official release. The production is going to run in theaters this weekend. It might score a better performance than any other part of the franchise.
Jude Brownbill Was Promoted as Directing Animator for This Movie
The storyline in Cars 3 follows Lightning McQueen through an existential crisis. Once the king of the racing world, he is finding now the new generation as challenging and intimidating than never before. Young race cars keep replacing him until the #95 hero reaches the verge of oblivion. Therefore, the new movie weaves with subtlety a synergy between an internal and external conflict.
Cruz Ramirez with the voice of Cristela Alonzo is going to act as the sidekick embodied in a young race technician that helps McQueen overcome its inner conflicts. And win the Piston Cup Racing as well which makes her more than a secondary character.
Jude Brownbill ascended during this Cars franchise from a female animator to the directing animator. According to Indie Wire, she helped greatly the production building the very first naturally powerful female character in this series.
Brownbill invested a lot of time and talent in this third installment. She also admitted that the conflicts the Ramirez character has to overcome resonate with her personal life experiences as well. She admitted that the numerous leading roles men received in Hollywood turned it into a men’s world.
“Going into that leadership role for me personally has meant engaging in…things I didn’t know I was capable of.”
The Cars Franchise Has Now Potential for Great Popularity
The first two movies might have lacked depth, yet the third production makes it up for this omission. McQueen faces a pivotal point in his life when he has to prove the world that he is still relevant. The movie received an R rating and will appear in cinemas this weekend.
