Video streaming platform Twitch is another conquest of Amazon.com. Its main goal is to enable gaming community to consolidate more mostly through live videos. The latest success the company achieved was an exclusivity contract for Blizzard tournaments. As a consequence, the members of this network are going to enjoy some of the most appealing content in this industry for a period of two years.
The Blizzard Tournaments that Entered This Deal Are All Hot Events
Twitch has always lived in the shadow of its giant rival, YouTube. The Google service has been around the block longer than Twitch which assured it a larger community of subscribers. However, a new deal between Twitch and Blizzard might turn things around. The younger program will be able to attract even more users than ever before with fresh, appealing content that won’t appear anywhere else.
The two-year deal handed Twitch the rights over exclusive third-party streaming on an enticing selection of Blizzard tournaments. The games that are included in this bundle are some popular titles such as:
- World of Warcraft Arena Championship.
- Overwatch APEX League.
- Heroes of the Storm Global Championship.
- Overwatch Premier Series.
- Hearthstone Global Games.
- Hearthstone Championship Tour.
- Starcraft II World Championship Series.
Blizzard Will Also Benefit from This Two-Year Contract
These are just the confirmed events that came with the offer. There will be other eSports tournaments courtesy of Blizzard that Twitch will be the only one to stream in 2018. On top of that, Twitch members will receive other complimentary perks regarding Blizzard games. These will be in the form of special loot for Overwatch, Hearthstone, and Heroes of the Storm.
However, Twitch is not the only lucky part to participate in this agreement. While the company is sure to receive new Prime subscribers, Blizzard will also greatly benefit from this deal. There will be a major increase of audience coming from the e-sports streaming service.
