Bill Nye blames journalists for the fact that the current presidential candidates are ignoring climate change issues and focusing their attention on other matters. Apparently the Science Guy is convinced that the journalists are to blame for the increasing pollution and the fact that climate change is continued to be vastly ignored by the political system.
During a late night show on Comedy Central, Bill Nye expressed his disappointment in investigative journalists. Bill Nye blames journalists for the fact that the current presidential candidates did not tackle the subject, or if they did, they managed to get away quickly by labeling themselves as “doubters”.
The Science Guy is convinced that the Republicans are refusing to address climate change because most of their revenue is based directly or indirectly on fossil fuels exploitation. The former TV host continued by saying that the political figures are easily escaping when it comes to climate change because journalists are not stressing the matter enough.
It all began when Larry Wilmore invited Nye to his Nightly Show. When the Science Guy sat down, the host asked him about his view on climate change discussions during the presidential debates. That is when Nye unexpectedly started to accuse journalists of the fact that they are not trying hard enough to make the candidates tackle the subject and explain their opinions.
Nye has demonstrated over the years that he is very interested in climate change. He is involved in several projects meant to bring awareness of the subject, and he has often spoken out about those who encourage climate change.
But this time, his beef was not with the political candidates directly. Even though the host asked him about the candidates, Nye started complaining about the efficiency of the investigative journalists.
Bill Nye blames journalists for the fact that the presidential candidates got away from climate change discussions simply by saying that they are “doubters.” According to previous statements of the comic scientist, you can say that you are a “doubter” when somebody asks you about Odin and the Ice Giant’s existence, but not when it comes to a cold, hard scientific fact.
Climate change is a real issue that is causing lots of problems worldwide. The effects could prove to be catastrophic on a global scale if people do not start the fight against it. Nye is convinced that the Republicans are labeling themselves as “doubters” because they gain profit from the usage of fossil fuels.
