In other news, HBO is ready to release its most recent documentary entitled ‘Beware of Slenderman.’ Set to go live on the 23rd of January, the documentary directed and produce by Irene Taylor Brodsky (Hear and Now, The Final Inch, Saving Pelican 895, and One Last Hug: Three Days at Grief Camp) will tell the horrid story behind the events which took place in Wisconsin during the 2014 Memorial Day.
The HBO original will feature interviews with all specialists who helped the little girls involved in the Slenderman stabbing, as well as information pertaining to the creation of Slenderman’s mythos.
Beware of Slenderman will present the stories of Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, two 12-year-old girls from Wisconsin who attempted to murder their friend and colleague to appease the demonic figure known as Slenderman.
The documentary, which will go live on the 23rd of January, will also tell the story of how Slenderman came into existence. As the director points out, the man behind Slenderman is Eric Knudsen, a Photoshop specialist.
Slenderman’s creation was purely an accident. Knudsen specialized in making online photos scarier, by adding various elements. One of Knudsen’s creation is Slenderman. As portrayed on the Internet, the demoniac character is very tall and appears to wear something resembling a black business suit.
In all depictions, Slenderman is faceless, and in some of them, the character has octopus-like tentacles on his back. Of course, Knudsen’s creation became so popular, that many Internet users began writing short stories involving the nefarious Slenderman.
In each of them, Slenderman would appear at night, in a dark forest, observing, and waiting for a chance to strike. Some of these stories claimed that people who’ve seen Slenderman would come down with amnesia or suffer from paranoid delusions.
While these are works of fictions, best used for scaring teens, Geyser and Weier took them for granted. Living with the constant fear of being murdered by the mysterious character, the two 12-year-olds devised a fiendish scheme to impress Slenderman.
On the 26th of May, 2014, the two girls lured one of their friends in the nearby forest and stabbed her 19 times. Fortunately, the girl survived the murder attempt. Geyser and Weier are now in custody, awaiting the court’s verdict.
Taylor’s documentary Beware of Slenderman captures all moment of the brutal incident which took place during Memorial Day.
